 One of
the greatest ways to feel a part of Hillside is to get
involved. There
are numerous opportunities for individuals to experience the
joy of serving others.
The point of volunteering is not just to get
involved, but to match your individual gifts and interests
with meaningful areas of service.
People tend to serve best when they’re utilizing
their God-given talents and abilities.
At
Hillside, we believe that serving is both a privilege –
the God of the universe invites us to join Him in His work
– and a blessing. Those
being served are helped while those serving sense the
fulfillment that comes from knowing they are making a
difference in people’s lives.
This is what Jesus had in mind when He said,
“There’s far more happiness in giving than in
receiving”.
Frequently
Asked Questions
“I’m
not a member at Hillside, so is it o.k. for me to get
involved?”
Some
volunteer positions like being a deacon or church officer
require a commitment of membership, but there are numerous
opportunities to serve for those who haven’t yet joined
the church.
In fact, we believe that one of the best ways for
people to get introduced to Hillside, meet others and grow
in their appreciation for our ministry is by getting
involved as quickly as possible.
Therefore, there are lots of ways you can begin
serving.
